Description
The Quʼrān is the central religious text of Islam, which holds that it was revealed to Muhammad by the angel Jibril (Gabriel). To Muslims, it is the culmination of a great series of direct revelations. The Quʼrān is not a historical book but a book of moral guidance that takes natural and supernatural events as signs of God. It was written down by Muhammad's companions before his death. Yusuf Ali's translation is one of the most widely used renderings in English. He could recite the entire book from memory.
